The creative colour scheme and alternative atmosphere of the Laneway Pop-Up Bar will bring a little piece of alternative culture to Tamworth’s streets. The event was a sell-out success last year, but many were left disappointed after missing out on tickets.
Taste Tamworth Festival 2015 co-ordinator Kate Baker said a local CBD laneway would be transformed into the Telstra Laneway Bar for two nights in a row this year to kick off the festival.
Creative lighting and music will set the scene, with One of a Kind’s Emily Honess again outfitting the venue with vintage furniture.
“It offers an alternative event for a Friday and Saturday night. It’s inspired by Melbourne laneways, so it gives Tamworth a taste of that culture,” Ms Honess said.
Ms Baker said the 200 people who’d secured tickets for last year’s pop-up bar had had an “amazing experience” that was “talked about for weeks”.
The pop-up bar will be open on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, from 7pm to 10pm.
The Taste Tamworth Festival 2015 is sponsored by The Northern Daily Leader and will run from April 10 to 19.
Aside from the Telstra Laneway Bar, the event boasts Taste in the Park, a five-course long lunch in Bicentennial Park, the Farm Gate Trail, the Country Camp Oven Lunch and culinary workshops.
Tickets are now on sale for the Telstra Laneway Bar – at $50 – and the Long Lunch – $110 – through www.entertain
