Tarra Ann Murray, a senior constable attached to Oxley police, was pulled over by fellow officers while she was off-duty about 8.25pm on December 21, 2014.
Murray was stopped by police in Commercial Ln in Walcha and failed a roadside breath test before she was taken to a nearby police station.
According to court facts, Murray later recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.062.
The legal blood alcohol limit to drive is 0.050.
Following an internal investigation, the 37-year-old was charged with low-range PCA.
Murray did not appear in Walcha Local Court yesterday when her case was mentioned for the first time but pleaded guilty.
A Tamworth solicitor submitted the written plea on her behalf, asking her client be excused and requesting the case to be transferred to Tamworth for sentencing.
But Magistrate Karen Stafford refused the application and told the court the case should be heard in Walcha where the offence was committed.
The court heard Murray was a police officer in the Walcha sector, attached to Oxley police.
Magistrate Stafford has ordered Murray to return to court in April to be sentenced.
NSW police have confirmed the officer is suspended from duties with pay.
