It starts with The Biggest Tribute Show in Tamworth tomorrow at the Tamworth Town Hall and then You Got It, his tribute to Roy Orbison at Wests on Friday.
Just before the festival, Stephan was busy finishing a couple of albums and DVDs.
“I’ve got an album that I did most of in Nashville, but with all the shows I’ve been doing the last year-and-a-half, I haven’t had a chance to finish it,” he said.
“I’ve got another one I’ve got to start for Europe and America and that’s been taking a lot of my time. I’ve just been flat out.”
Stephan spends much of his time writing and recording in the US. In 2013 and 2014 he had shows in Hawaii and Las Vegas, as well as recording with legends and top-name artists in the country music world.
He’s done a duet with Vince Gill and had songs cut by Blake Shelton, including co-writing Good At Starting Fires, the title track of Shelton’s 2008 release.
At this year’s festival Stephan will play at Blazes for the first time during a show and is back at one of his favourite venues, the Tamworth Town Hall.
“I’ve always loved the town hall, so never really considered looking elsewhere, but this year we thought we would try elsewhere as well,” he said.
“The last time I did something at Blazes was about five years ago and it worked out really well.”
At his first tribute show, Stephan will have guests including Donella Plane as Dolly Parton.
Following the festival, Stephan will be back on the road in Australia, return to the USA for more writing and recording, go to Sweden to record and head back to Nashville.
