They seem a little more switched on and determined to make the most of the time they are being given by the various GNA coaches to improve their games.
At stake could be NRL careers for the young rugby league hopefuls.
And they aren’t wasting a minute.
Last Sunday the 40 or so boys revised a few drills from their first camp and then added and intensified it with more involved drills from dummy half and pivot plays.
Marker defence was also worked on.
The GNA program takes another step forward in Tamworth later this month when the GNA Tiger and Cub squads meet again at Jack Woolaston Oval for a Saturday, December 13 session.
That’s the final session for the year before they meet up again on January 18 for what will be a big start to 2015, with games against fellow academies and also the Newcastle Knights junior teams programmed.
Also three of last year’s GNA squad – Tom Say, Mitch Lennon and Isaac Austin – show there are rewards for work ethic.
They have been selected to attend a Country To City Camp in Sydney later this week after shining in last year’s GNA.
