Mr Goldstein states in that letter that as Greens candidate, he doesn’t want to “rip up the northern rail line”.
As recently as September 3, Mr Goldstein was reported in an article appearing in The Northern Daily Leader as a committee member of an entity named New England Rail Trail and advocating for the transformation of that railway “into a gravel roadway”.
Opponents of those plans were classified as “pockets of opposition” in that same article.
In regard to the proposed rail trail in the New England region, community members could fairly question where the real allegiance of Mr Goldstein lies on the issue of whether that railway should or shouldn’t be dismantled to construct that rail trail.
Should Mr Goldstein no longer be a Greens candidate in the future, would he again revert to advocating for the dismantling of that railway line?
