The Tamworth physical culture girls will compete in the upcoming Australian Physie and Dance Association’s national finals to be held on Monday, November 17.
Eight senior girls from the Tamworth club travelled to Sydney recently to compete at Wahroonga in the Australian Physie & Dance Association’s Seniors Weekend Completion against girls from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
Sarah Mathews and Amber Shephard (13yrs), Brittany Morgan (14yrs) and Chloe Jolliffe (1st year seniors) all made it through to the semi- finals.
Shelby Botfield-Mohr and Kaira Northey (1st year seniors) along with Jessica Shephard and Taylor Johnston (2nd year seniors) were selected in the top 14 final in Australia of their respective age groups, making them eligible to compete in the Australian Physie and Dance national finals at the Opera House, with each girl vying for a top six finish
Botfield-Mohr and Johnston both placed fourth in their respective age groups on the national stage in 2013 and are hoping to better that in 2014.
Teacher Leigh Botfield is very proud of the girls who have worked extremely hard to achieve their dream spots and it is an amazing achievement for the club to have so many girls competing at national level.
