A modest three-bedroom home in Hillvue stands as a reminder of the massive fundraising drive that helped a grieving dad realise his late wife’s dying wish.
Refrigeration mechanic Cameron Adams moved into the home two weeks ago with his boys Caleb, 3, and Charlie, 18 months, following the outpouring of support – and dollars.
It symbolises a new start, security for his sons’ future, but most of all, it’s a symbol of Tiffany Adams, who lost her brave battle with cancer in June.
More than $22,000 was raised in a remarkable two-month community appeal, allowing Mr Adams to make a deposit on the home.
Flanked by friends and workmates, Mr Adams had a housewarming party at the Mullum- bimby Cl residence on Saturday night.
“It’s been awesome – we’ve finally fulfilled Tiff’s dream,” Mr Adams said.
“The boys have settled in really well and are loving it.
“Our yard backs onto some farmland so they love the fact horses and ducks come up to our back fence and say hello.”
Mr Adams plans to plant a number of Tiffany roses at the entrance to his home as a reminder of his late wife.
The fundraising for the family continues, with a special golf day planned for November 16.
Organised by his colleagues at Tamworth’s KL Air, the golf day for Tiff Adams will be held at the Longyard Golf Club.
Tickets to the ambrose event, which includes lunch, novelty hole prizes and more, are $150 for a team of four.
Organiser and former KL Air owner Glen Kempster said proceeds would go to helping Mr Adams pay bills and make mortgage repayments.
