I would like to compliment Eddy Whitham and the multicultural committee, together with the support of Tamworth Regional Council, for a very colourful event on Saturday in Peel St.
What a wonderful carnival atmosphere.
Interesting smells of spicy foods, thrilling music, brightly dressed groups of dancers.
Laughing and chatting with the many different, traditionally dressed newcomers to Tamworth made for an exciting occasion.
Many folk came to share their knowledge of somewhere in the British Isles with us as they checked out the Best of British stall.
It was so good we are planning next year’s event already!

What a powerhouse asset for “Team Tamworth” is Eddie Whitham!
Eddie and his handpicked, equally enthusiastic band of helpers put together a memorable show for the inaugural ‘Fiesta la Peel’ on Saturday.
Blessed with a perfect day, the show highlighted the diversity of cultures which make up our fair city, be it in cuisine, music, dance, art and performance.
We look forward to next year’s Fiesta.

Well done and congratulations to Eddie Whitham and Multicultural Tamworth for Fiesta La Peel.
What a wonderful evening!
Over the last few years, Australia seems to be becoming a very mean, nasty, bullying, country, but the Fiesta La Peel demonstrated that there is a huge bulk of goodwill, friendliness, and welcoming people, in Australia.
Despite the rhetoric of the bigots, dog whistlers, and dogs being whistled, Australia is still a good place.
Team Australia, is a very different team, to what Abbott, the shock jocks, and the Murdoch press would have us believe.
Eddie for PM, I reckon!
