With talk of shirt-fronting and a flurry of verbal jabs from the Russian newspaper Pravda, it seems the stage is set for a knock-out round with Vladimir Putin at the G20 conference in November.
It also seems the scribes at Pravda didn't get our PM's memo about walking things back to a "very robust conversation" when they labelled him a "rude, insolent, insulting, impolite, impertinent, unpolished, gross, unpleasant, and downright impudent" man.
All this pre-fight showboating has led many to wonder what a fight between our speedo-clad PM and the topless horse-riding, KGB-trained Mr Putin would even look like.
