Brianna Trickett scored a second half double, with one a contender for individual try of the year as the Cowgirls won 16-6.
The Jillaroos had been the unbeaten minor premiers but Dungowan became the only side to have beaten them with the upset major semi-final win.
The first 25 minutes of the grand final were scoreless and played tight in the middle.
Kelly Smith drew first blood for the Cowgirls with a try in the right corner right on halftime.
Jordyn Hoy made some good inroads for Walcha in the second half with a couple of breaks down the left flank but the side couldn’t capitalise.
Walcha was hampered by a few dropped balls and the referee for a while, with captain coach Robyn Broadbent having some very stern words following Trickett’s first.
The young flyer got behind some shooting defence and found a gap to the line for a 10-nil lead.
Once again, Walcha went downfield and pressed the Cowgirls until a Rhiannon Moran grubber went too deep.
Moran was playing well with some good interchange between her, Broadbent, Lacey Latham and Amanda Scott, but Trickett showed them all a clean pair of heels to put the game away after Morgan Bates picked up a loose ball and then threw a great ball to a flying Trickett.
Trickett beat one with a little in and out before turning on the afterburners in a 60m effort to break Walcha hearts.
At 16-nil, a determined Broadbent scored a consolation try but the Cowgirls prevailed for their first title.
Coach Brendan Steel put the win down to dedication at training and the club environment.
“Last year some of the girls had never thrown a ball,” Steel said.
“We train with the boys and Tubs (Luke Taylor) helps out.
“It was a great win.”
Anita Collins and Sarah Stackman were other stand-outs but it was Trickett’s day as the girls laid the platform for the club to make history with the double.
