It will determine if it retains the GPS Third Grade premiership.
The TAS outfit, with six wins, one loss and a bye in the final round, sits on top of the ladder with Sydney Grammar and The Scots College, both of which have five wins and one loss and a bye under their belts.
If the country boys can beat Riverview who have had just two wins, a draw and three losses, the worst that can happen is an equal premiership – and that’s something coach Jamie Moore says the boys are well aware of.
“They know it’s a bit like a grand final for them, and want to finish on a strong note after a good season,” Moore said.
Key to this will be ensuring the balanced performance across the team.
“To be competitive we need to play a 15-man game – that’s where our strength has been recently.
“Over the second half of the season the team has prided itself on our defensive record, and that will be critical to success.”
The GPS Thirds competition, won outright by TAS last year, involves the Firsts from TAS, Sydney Grammar and Sydney Boys’ High and the Thirds from the remaining six GPS schools.
TAS will play Riverview in 13 matches, from 13Bs to Opens.
