Clive Palmer’s comments on Q&A about China’s communist regime killing its own people gained its fair share of media attention during the week, with a portion of it focussed on how it may be received by the ultra-sensitive Beijing leadership.
It’s been great to see in the wake of the coverage that Clive has stuck to his guns because, as he said, it’s the “truth”.
Since 1949, the communists have killed or caused the unnatural death of tens of millions of Chinese and their founder Mao is recognised as the world’s top mass murderer, outdoing both Hitler and Stalin.
Sadly the killing and the mentality behind it continues, albeit behind closed doors.
On the same day that Clive appeared on Q&A I began reading The Slaughter: Mass Killings, Organ Harvesting, and China's Secret Solution to Its Dissident Problem by investigative journalist Ethan Guttman.
It’s a well written book about how tens of thousands of prisoners of conscience – Uyghurs, Tibetans, and above all Falun Gong practitioners – have been murdered for their organs by the state.
An extremely uncomfortable truth.
In an interview publicising his book Mr Guttman said: “It’s like finding out that a relative of yours is a child molester – now you may have known they had some problems before – but now you know they’re a child molester”.
With the amount of information and proof now available on this horrifying issue, any fair-minded person now agrees that the organ harvesting on prisoners of conscience is an accepted truth.
How we deal with that truth is what comes next.
