Roberts has scored hat-tricks in each of his past two games for FC and a hat-trick of hat-tricks would go a long way to securing a win against a local adversary who are also trying to overcome a big loss to another local opponent.
The Gavin Tompson-coached North Companions lost 5-1 to Oxley Vale Attunga last Saturday and now have just a one-point advantage over the Tim Coates-coached Mushies.
Tamworth FC head the way in the PL’s Southern Conference with 41 points while North Companions has 36 and OVA 35.
The Mushies have a bye tomorrow and match up against Gunnedah United in the final round next week, while North Companions go to Narabri’s Hogan Oval to play Namoi United.
North Armidale climbed back to the top of the PL’s Northern Conference with last week’s 2-1 win over Inverell’s Joeys FC at Phil Wheaton Oval, North Armidale.
Andy Lennon and his Redmen now have a one point lead over Joeys FC and play East Armidale in a local derby at Doody Park tomorrow. Joeys FC have the bye along with South Armidale Scorpions, who are caught up in a three-way joust for third and fourth in the NC with East Armidale and Demon Knights.
