In welcome news for families, the much-anticipated Tamworth Regional Playground will forge ahead following a state government funding promise yesterday.
The $2.2 million facility, to be located at Bicentennial Park, will boast cutting-edge play equipment, picnic spaces, bike paths and fitness trails.
Meanwhile on Tuesday night, Tamworth councillors ratified a plan to develop Longyard as the city's sporting hub.
The blueprint allows scope for council to improve existing facilities and build new ones, reigniting hopes of a new football stadium in the future.
And finally, local couple Ingrid and Michael Lorberg yesterday lodged a development application for a rollerskating rink at the old Thunderdome site.
