THE darts were flying at West Tamworth League Club on the weekend for the annual Tamworth Games darts tournament.

More than 150 players participated across a range of divisions and from as far afield as Newcastle, Gold Coast, Ballina, Lismore, Mudgee and
Sydney.
They joined players from Tamworth, Inverell, Gunnedah and Moree, and there were some very competitive games played over the weekend.
Newcastle’s Mitchell Clegg certainly had his eye in.
He hit ten 180s on his way to winning the men’s singles, which had a field of 102, the men’s doubles and mixed doubles.
The ladies’ singles was won by another Newcastle player Corinne Hammond with Sandy Aldridge finishing runner-up.
Clegg teamed up with Scott Johnson to win the men’s doubles ahead of Guy Holland and Mick Barber, and the Tamworth combination of Darren Oliver and Chris Soley.
The ladies’ doubles was won by Vickie Hicks and Teresa Herring, with Lara Mlotowski and Fran Share coming in second and Sandy and Cassie Aldridge third.
Clegg and Hammond also paired up to win the mixed doubles from David Herring and Vickie Hicks, and Jeremy Jackson and Rhiannon Kerr.
Over the weekend there were 65 180s hit all up.
Oliver and Soley were among them with Oliver hitting five and Soley four.
Mark Sullivan also hit four and Josh Townsend and Kayne Munro three.
There were a two hit by the ladies with Hammond scoring 180 twice and Joy Brice once.
