I WRITE on behalf of Citizens Against Daylight Savings (CADS), which have been contacting me with their objections to the current six months of daylight savings (DLS). I have received more complaints this year, even from people who like DLS.

They are wanting it to end in February not April. Some are willing to sign the Abolish Daylight Saving Petition from Parkes, organised by Judy O'Brien for a referendum.
This is a March 2015 election issue.
A growing majority want DLS to cease on April 6, 2014 and have a two- to three-year trial without daylight savings.
Prior to the March 2011 election, Nationals Leader Andrew Stoner announced as an election promise that DLS would be reviewed to reduce it to its original concept (Referendum 1976) after (1971 Trial DLS).
Unfortunately Premier Barry O’Farrell and opposition Leader John Robertson both want DLS to stay and be extended.
Appointed Cross Boarder Commissioner Steve Toms has taken three years to do the review, mainly in Queensland. MP Adam Marshall has responded to my letter on behalf of CADS in his electorate by stating that Mr Toms report will be released soon.
My comment – sooner rather than latter would be better.
It’s time to show DLS the door. It came to stay for four months, then extended to six months and now wants to stay in our life for 12 months.
Like the raven of yore it’s time we say “never more” to DLS.
