A Midsummer Night’s Dream is also thought to be the first time the society has brought Shakespeare to the local stage, with its opening night on Friday at the Capitol Theatre.
It features a cast of 21, with ages ranging from seven to 70. It promises to be a feast for the senses, the costumes and scenery a labour of love for the behind-the-scenes team.
There will be four evening performances and several matinees this weekend and mid-week, with shows wrapping up on Sunday, March 30.
