Organised by Aussies Against Fracking and The Wilderness Society, Party for the Pilliga is billed as an event to celebrate “the power of community action”.
Outspoken CSG opponent Maria Rickert, who runs the eco-tourism resort of Pilliga Pottery, is hosting the free party, which will feature a stellar line-up of bands and artists.
The Pilliga has been the scene of numerous protests in recent months over Santos’ plans for a
$2 billion, 850-well coal seam gas operation.
