Armidale Dumaresq Mayor Cr Laurie Bishop issued a statement on Friday afternoon confirming speculation that Glenn Inglis had been appointed interim General Manager.
Shane Burns left council on February 17 after an agreement was reached to terminate his contract seven months early.
Council said the appointment of Mr Inglis would commence on Monday February 24 and is expected to last between three to six month as the recruitment process gets underway for a permanent replacement.
Mr Inglis has only recently finished conducting a NSW government-ordered review into the effectiveness of local government.
