Young ones have a grip on NIAS 2014 challenges

NORTHERN Inland Academy of Sport golf and tennis programs both loaded up at the weekend.

Jarrod Campbell and his fellow coaches had a large group of tennis players trialling for positions in the NIAS Inland Technology Tennis Program at the Tamworth Tennis Club’s Treloar Park complex.

NIAS is now accepting applications for the 2014 talent development programs in tennis, bull riding and mountain bike riding.

At Tamworth Golf Club NIAS golf program head coach Brock Sampson had six of his NIAS squad for another session focusing on putting.

Helping the young golfers with their putting routines was a major part of the session.

Saturday’s session was the final one before the squad heads to Wollongong for next month’s Academy Games and then a swag of junior tournaments including qualifying events for Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation events.
