Police were patrolling a Gunnedah street about 11.30pm on Tuesday when they stopped the driver of a white ute for a random breath test.
The man failed a roadside reading and was arrested before he allegedly returned a high-range reading and was charged and had his licence suspended on the spot.
About half an hour later, police were called to another incident when they will allege the same man drove past them.
Officers did a U-turn and tracked the driver down.
He got out of the ute and was arrested again and charged with drive while suspended and driving under the influence. He was granted conditional bail to front Gunnedah Local Court at a later date.
