Tomorrow’s meeting features the Mitchell Family Sprint Series heats over the 440m with a McDonald’s Free For All.
The fourth and fifth grade heats will be races six to eight, with race nine being the McDonald’s FFA which has attracted some good dogs, including the Barry Evans-trained Yo Cool Maxie.
He will be in box three and fresh from winning the Last on the Grass in Gunnedah last Saturday, the fifth success in a five-race winning streak.
Armidale Greyhound Club president Garry Carson said whilst the fields were still strong they were a bit disappointed with the noms.
“We have lost some meetings due to our cutbacks in funding,” Carson said.
“It is still our biggest time of the year and has attracted some good dogs.
“Hopefully they are holding back for the Cup heats next week.”
The Armidale Cup will be held next Saturday with the $2000 final the following Saturday.
This week’s 10-race card will get underway at 1pm.
