Police will allege a 20-year-old man was set upon by the offenders after telling the group to leave and suffered two serious wounds to his back.
The group fled the scene before Ambulance paramedics and police were called. The man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
A crime scene was set up to find clues to the identity of the group before an 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with affray.
He was granted bail to front Tamworth Local Court on February 3 while a 15-year-old boy was charged and will appear in children’s court next month.
Police still have to talk with a number of witnesses but they are urging anyone with information on the incident to contact Tamworth police.
