TEAGAN Jones has had to work through much of Tamworth’s Country Music Festival in the past, but as a Queen of Country Music Quest entrant this year she’s keen to see a whole lot more.
Teagan, 20, is sponsored by the Tamworth Services Club where she works at the North Tamworth Bowling Club in the bistro.
As head waitress she says she enjoys the interaction with colleagues and customers, something she’s looking forward to as a queen quest entrant.
“I love meeting new people and enjoy new experiences, so that was something that attracted me (to the quest),” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to participating more in the festival, becoming more involved, because I’ve had to work a lot in past years.”
What she’s seen of the festival though she’s loved.
“The best part for me is all the new people around,” Teagan said. “I love that it brings so many different people into town.”
As well as working as a waitress, she’s also completing a certificate IV in real estate at TAFE, her dream to eventually pursue a career in that industry.
Teagan and her family moved to the city 13 years ago and she likes nothing more than spending her spare time with 15-year-old sister Montanna and five-year-old Dakota. She also enjoys art and loves to draw.
As the festival fast approaches, Teagan’s preparing to grab the opportunities presented to her as an entrant with both hands.
“I’m looking on it as an adventure; the chance to do something I don’t normally get to do.”
