After two days of rest and relaxation, shoppers were once again out in force across the region’s retail sectors yesterday, this time to revel in the high-anticipated post-Christmas Day deals.
Never-ending crowds flowed through both entry points at Tamworth Shoppingworld, while many consumers who had had their fill slowly streamed back out, their trolleys and hands full.
The Trengrouse kids, Trista, 8, Kyrah, 7 and Cale, 4, were all smiles leaving Big W after spending up big with gift vouchers they had received from grandparents Sue and Steve Trengrouse on Christmas Day.
It was the first year the kids had received gift cards, mum, Desiree, said.
“It’s a great idea – the kids get to pick out the stuff they want,” Mrs Trengrouse said.
Clare and Bill Morgan normally try to stay clear of the Boxing Day madness, but could not pass up a number of bargains while browsing yesterday.
“We’re not usually post-Christmas shoppers,” Mrs Morgan said.
“We just came here to browse and to get a bit of food.”
The Perkins’ women were also enjoying the experience.
“It’s exciting, there are lots of sales,” Hollie Perkins said.
