It is The Albert’s Adam Jones in full flight, ripping a delivery off his pads and down to backward square leg for good runs.
Jones is one of The Albert’s top- order stars.
Last Friday he blazed early, slamming 24 off just 15 deliveries.
The Albert teammates Nick Leyden (36) and Matt Everett (23) also struck quick runs for The Albert to enable what was an 11-run win and a chance to play in the January 10 T20 Final against McDonald’s.
At the same time, Halpin’s Plumbing were inflicting the first defeat of the season on McDonald’s to ensure they remained level with The Albert.
Nick Pearson, who plays with Jones in the Bective-East Bulls Tamworth District Cricket Association first grade side, starred for Halpin’s Plumbing last week, blasting 64 from 54 balls to hold the side together after losing early wickets.
Pearson is also in the Tamworth side with Jones to play Cricket Albury Wodonga in a quarter-final of the SCG Country Cup on the South Coast on December 28.
It all makes tonight’s showdown between Halpin’s Plumbing and The Albert so much more intense and a mate versus mate situation.
In the other final-round game, McDonald’s play Steggles.
Both games start about 5pm, with the final played under lights at Tamworth No 1 Oval on Friday, January 10.
