Kevin Weatherall was in fine form winning the TCTC 50 Target Championship, the G Brothers Mercedes Benz 50 Target Championship from Geoff Hunter who won the CPC Auto Components 50 Target Championship, the Bob Jane T-Marts Tamworth 50 Target Championship and the overall high gun for the weekend.
Tristan Hunter, new to the sport, won the Junior High Gun, reported TCTC secretary Lachie Cameron.
“Shooters attended from a wide area of eastern Australia with travellers attending from Townsville in the north to Werribee, Victoria in the south,” Cameron reported.
“Interesting results of the carnival included the great shooting by the lady shooters competing. Sarah Bennett (AA Grade) from Dubbo was first in the CPC Auto Components Championship with 59/61 and the Bob Jane T-Marts Championship with 61/62 after a shoot-off for Overall against husband Shane.
“Sarah then shot off for the Overall High Gun for the weekend against fellow lady shooter Lorraine Hughes from Caboolture, QLD. Sarah was the winner with a score of 202/208.
“Lorraine Hughes (AA Grade) was second in the Tamworth Clay Target Club Championship with 55/58, Overall in the CPC Auto Components championship with 60/61 and the Lady’s High Gun with 201/208 after a shoot-off for the Overall High Gun against Sarah Bennett.
“Tracy Ashton (B Grade) from the Gold Coast won the Weatherall Engineering 20 Gauge Championship with 49/50 and the Weatherall Engineering Doubles Championship with 40/50.
Tracy went on to take second in the CPC Auto Components Championship and first in the Bob Jane T-Marts title.”
n TCTC member John Cassin won last month’s Northern Zone Skeet Championship in Newcastle, earning him a berth in the Northern Zone Skeet Team to compete at Cecil Park in August.
