Half a million reasons to celebrate

THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Tamworth Support Group has hit the half-million-dollar mark in its fundraising efforts.

The group has raised more than $500,000 since it began over 12 years ago.

Volunteers can often be spotted in their bright red shirts on Peel St or in shopping centres, selling raffle tickets or putting on barbecues.

The Tamworth Support Group also helps bring the annual Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Ball to Tamworth, one of the highlights of the city’s social calendar, and hosts the Tamworth Balladeers and Friends Concert in the lead-up to the country music festival.
