Adam Harvey and The McClymonts were inducted into the Galaxy of Stars for 2013 yesterday.
Adam is the winner of eight Golden Guitars and has also been rewarded for his community work with a Centenary Medal, he’s a CMA International Country Music Artist of the Year and a Fred Hollows Foundation ambassador.
Now he’s added a star in the TRECC forecourt to his long list of accolades.
During the festival he’s been playing his own gigs as well as visiting those who cannot enjoy the festival in town, including hospital patients and nursing home residents, to bring a bit of the festival to them.
He’s also writing his first book, Tales from the Road, and said it was an honour to be included in the stars.
The McClymonts tour between Australia and the US and will start their Acoustic Harmony tour today in Tamworth.
Sam McClymont said it was an absolute honour to be included because they were celebrating 20 years of coming to Tamworth.
“Our parents used to bring us along to Tamworth to see the buskers and who knew we’d be here receiving our own star,” she said.
Mollie said it was great being in the forecourt of TRECC in the star.
“Now we can look up people’s skirts instead,” she said.
The Galaxy of Stars began in 2000 and has become a permanent monument at TRECC.
