The 73-year-old farmer suffered cuts to his upper body when he was trampled by the large poddy calf as he was trying to move it out of a pen on a property on Martyn St, Ashford.
Ambulance paramedics were called at 9.51am and transported the man to Inverell hospital in a stable condition.
The man told paramedics the calf was bigger than your usual calf.
