McFarlane has given his side "mission possible" over the next five weeks as the defending NISL premiers aim to secure a home grand final.
"We're sitting in third spot at the moment and our goal is to win every game from here on," McFarlane said yesterday.
"There's five games left and if we win them all we should get second spot and give ourselves a crack at a grand final."
North Companions take on UNE/TAS at Marius Street today.
Northies won 7-1 in the first-round encounter but McFarlane said UNE/TAS were a better side than that.
McFarlane said UNE/TAS mid-fielders Willow Grieves and Scott Woolley were quality players.
Northies will look to dominate the midfield.
"We'll be looking to our halves Phil Johnson and David Palmer.
"If they can get plenty of ball then we should be able to play plenty of width and get them down the sides," he said.
The North Companion defence has impressed McFarlane of late with right back Travis McMahon particularly strong.
Strikers Wayne Williams and Derek Terlich have been in form in front of goal in the past two weeks and McFarlane was keen for that to continue.
In other NISL games today, Gunnedah United is at home to South Armidale at Wolseley Park, Oxley-Vale Attunga takes on Hillvue Rovers at Scully Park, Demon Knights clash with North Armidale at Wicklow 2 and Ex-Services and East Armidale are in action at Wicklow 1.
