This weekChr(39)s major flooding claimed the Wolseley Park wicket when it inundated the main cricket field and wicket on Tuesday.
The venue may be out of action for at least three weeks, NSW Country Cricket Association chairman Mike Silver said.
The Northern Group Carnival was to be held this weekend but has been postponed until December 1, 2 and 3 because of the recent wet weather.
This weekChr(39)s floods threatened to throw the schedule into complete disarray and NSW Country officials are praying for no more rain both here and in the Illawarra where the Southern Group Carnival has been postponed twice.
With Wolseley Park out of action, NSW Country officials have ear-marked a Longmuir Playing Field ground as a fill-in. That ground and Kitchener Park will now be the venues, Mike Silver said.
"We reckon weChr(39)re right at this stage," he said.
"WeChr(39)re pushing ahead at Kitchener and Longmuir. Provided we donChr(39)t get any more major rain it should be pretty right. Unfortunately Wolseley Park is out of action for three weeks. And there will be no grade competition in Gunnedah this weekend."
Silver inspected the Wolseley Park wicket on Tuesday and then watched as floodwaters inundated the ground, covering the surface up to the Conadilly St fence.
"Hopefully it will recede pretty quickly," he said.
The fortunes have been just as damp in the Illawarra where the Southern Group Carnival has also been put off until December 2,3 and has been re-formatted as a two-day Carnival.
Meanwhile, the Central North Under 16 trial between the North West and Northern Tablelands sides takes place at No 1 Oval, Tamworth on Sunday.
