Member for New England and deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce was in Tamworth on Friday to reaffirm the government's commitment to building the new Dungowan Dam.
"I just want this thing done," he said.
"I am not funding a water recycling plant ... we are funding a dam."
He said $675 million in federal funding - $75 million more than the state government bill despite a 50-50 funding deal - was committed.
