Regenerating Australia is a 17 minute movie, which has been made off the back of a four month 'listening campaign' that was carried out in 2020.
People across all ages and demographics were asked what type of Australia they would like to see post-COVID. The film is set in 2030, and presented as a news report looking back at the 2020s.
Filmmaker Damon Gameau said it should appeal to people in the New England, with much of the focus being on the bush.
"We certainly tried to make sure we really got across section of Australians and to be honest, we probably favoured the regions more," he said.
"Because what came up early was that if Australia does go through this transition over the next couple of decades, and does accrue a lot of wealth and benefits, that the disaster would be if the regions get left behind."
Gameau said the number one issue they heard throughout the interview process was that people had less trust in politicians now than they used to, and were really struggling to relate to the nation's leaders.

This leads to other problems, like concerns over the environment and the treatment of First Nations people throughout the country.
He said there were still tickets on sale for the Tamworth show, and they were also expecting a good crowd in Armidale on Friday evening.
One of the most rewarding parts of the screenings had been seeing people connect after it was over, said Gameau.
"Normally we leave as the cinema is still full of people swapping phone numbers and sharing stories and trying to connect with each other to try and get involved with some community projects," he said.
"So it's been a really heartening and fantastic response to the film so far so I'm hoping tonight is a similar event."
The show, which includes a forum, begins at 6:15pm on Thursday at Forum 6 cinema, and 5.15pm at the Belgrave Cinema in Armidale on Friday.
