Playing in the NSW Combined High Schools knockout competition, the team won its third match against Quirindi last Thursday, March 21 to claim the title.
This result, team manager Katrina Davis said, was "expected" due to the team's similarly strong form the year prior.
"The whole team, apart from one girl, is in the North West High School team," Davis said.
"We've got some talent, and that ranges from Year 7 to Year 12. They're a good group of girls, and our most experienced players in Year 12 are looking to have a great year at school basketball because it's their last year."
The girls' pursuit of a strong final year has begun well, and the team's most recent 63-47 win over Quirindi, along with securing the regional title, has also catapulted the side into contention for the state finals.
Should they win their next two games, the first of which will be an away fixture and the second a home clash, they will enter the final 16 in NSW.
But though the side does not yet know exactly who they are playing next, it could potentially be the same team to end their campaign at this same stage last year: Miller.
"We were very unlucky to lose that one, we only lost by eight points or so," Davis said.
"They had a junior Australian player in that team and quite a few Sydney South West representatives, so I'm hoping that a lot of their strongest players last year were in Year 12, so that they've left and we've still got our strongest line-up.
"Ours is the same team, I think we've lost one player from last year."
With several players in their last year of school basketball, Davis hopes the younger team members can make the most of their time remaining and learn from their older counterparts, which she hopes will allow the school's success to continue into the future.
"We need to build on our younger players and get them involved so they can develop over the next few years," she said.
"It'll be a big loss to lose our Year 12 girls after this year, but we've got strength still in the team that can hopefully do well next year."
