
COVID numbers in the Hunter New England have tipped over 2000 again on Tuesday, but thankfully no new deaths have been recorded.
The district had 2149 positive cases logged in the 24 hours to 4pm Monday, made up of 356 PCR tests and 1793 rapid tests.

There are currently 39 COVID-19 cases in hospitals across the Hunter New England Local Health District, and four in intensive care.

It comes as the state records 20,960 positive test results in the reporting period - including 15,043 positive rapid antigen tests and 5,917 positive PCR tests.
There were also four deaths recorded.
