There were plenty of different wishes on the list, but for most people a tough two years of COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns put family time at the top.
Tamworth resident Paula Carmody said with a laugh that her Christmas wish was for her son to stop asking for a Hot Wheels toy every time the pair head to the shops - and we can't blame her.

Others were hopeful borders would remain open interstate both to travel and return to Tamworth after the silly season, as NSW's outbreak continues to grow and the virus spreads across the region.
While it may not be a completely normal Christmas, most people were just happy to be out and about and able to spend time together with the people who matter most.
