A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital after reports he was hit by a car on Calala Lane in Tamworth early on Tuesday morning.

An Ambulance NSW spokesman told the Leader paramedics were called to the stretch of road near the local high school just before 7am after reports of a collision between a bike rider and a car.
It's understood the male rider, believed to be aged in his 60s, was the only person injured in the crash.

The man was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene after he suffered injuries to his arm and shoulder, according to the Ambulance NSW spokesman.
He was taken to Tamworth hospital by ambulance for further treatment for his injuries after the reported collision.
The Ambulance NSW spokesman confirmed the injured man was in a stable condition at the time.
