
A SPIKE in COVID-19 cases has been seen in parts of the local area in the latest numbers update.
Moree added 13 new infections on Thursday, up from just one case yesterday and one the day before.

One of the shire's cases is located in the remote community of Boggabilla while the other dozen are in Moree itself.
The Tamworth local government area clocked three new coronavirus cases in the latest update, with one each residing in Tamworth, East Tamworth and South Tamworth.
No new cases were reported elsewhere across the region, including in Armidale and Inverell.

NSW Health said it's concerning to see Narrabri has returned a positive sewage result for the virus that causes COVID-19 despite no known cases residing in the town.
Residents right across the region have been urged to maintain testing rates and seek a swab if symptoms appear.
Those that remain unvaccinated have also been encouraged to get the jab to protect themselves and the community.
NSW Health reported Moonbi Public School remains closed after a COVID-19 case was confirmed in the community earlier this week, while schools in the Northern Tablelands area have reopened their doors.
The Hunter New England Health district recorded 53 new infections in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday, amid 262 new cases across the state. NSW sadly recorded three further deaths.
