Anglicare's Mobile Community Pantry has launched in Tamworth to provide residents with low cost food items.
For just $15, Anglicare Northern Inland regional manager Claire Dunlop said locals will be able to fill their shopping bags with essential non-perishable goods to help alleviate financial burdens, especially given the impacts of COVID-19.
"What we know about Tamworth is that there is food insecurity issues throughout the town," she said.
"To be able to provide a means where people can get low cost groceries that frees up their finances for other things like bills is a really useful tool."

Also addressing the issue of food insecurity, Tamworth Regional Council councillor Juanita Wilson said the city was often criticised for it's lack of nutritious food options and welcomed the pantry as a viable solution.
"To have a mobile pantry where healthy food can be taken at a reasonable cost to communities is just absolutely wonderful," she said.
Not only will the pantry offer affordable food, the initiative is also hoped to offer social benefits for those in need, Ms Dunlop said.
"Anglicare hopes that the pantry will not only meet the needs of customers but also create connections within the community for those who are isolated," she said.
Cr Wilson echoed the potential for social inclusion and said the pantry would be a reminder to the community that they are cared for and loved.
"Tamworth is a strong community and this is a wonderful example of that," she said.
Ms Dunlop said anyone in the community is welcome to access the pantry which will be open every fortnight at St Paul's Church, Coledale Church and Oxley Vale Church.
