Tamworth Country Music Festival 2022 organisers are on a high note as they prepare for the 50th anniversary.
Despite things starting a little slow as the nation emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, Tamworth Regional Council's Barry Harley said the early signs and vaccination rates are positive.
"We're looking forward to big crowds, we have noticed ticket sales have increased, particularly from across the border both north and south and we're looking forward to a near-normal festival," he told the Leader.
"Ticket sales in a lot of cases are showing better than what we did in 2020 ... so that's a really strong indicator in these uncertain days."

Mr Harley said large entertainment venues like the TRECC are back to 100 per cent crowd capacity under current coronavirus rules.
However, with the one person per two-square-metre rule enforced at pubs and clubs, Mr Harley said depending on any changes, it may not be viable for some hospitality venues to have a packed free program.
"We will make up any shortfall with some fantastic free entertainment that we're planning both in the CBD and in the park and various areas," he said.
"If people come for the free entertainment there will be plenty and if they come for the A-grade ticketed stuff there will be plenty of that as well."
Mr Harley said about 200 buskers had already registered and 50 or 60 at a time can showcase on Peel Street.
"That cacophony of good and bad sounds down the street will be alive and well," he said.
About 100 quality entries have been accepted for the Star Maker talent search, which will be whittled down to 10 performers.
Mr Harley said it showed the industry is in for a very bright future. A secret surprise guest will also perform at the Star Maker final.
Mr Harley teased more exciting announcements to come before the January 14 launch.
