A Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) spokeswoman said CCTV footage of the people responsible had been passed on to police.
"On Thursday evening an area of Barnes Gully was vandalised by one vehicle," she said.
"Fortunately, this vandalism will not impact any sporting groups directly.
"Indirectly these damages impact the aesthetics of the area and disheartens our employees who work tirelessly to present all our green space areas in the best possible fashion for all community members to enjoy."

Tamworth officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Jeff Budd confirmed officers are looking into the matter and have identified a person who is potentially a "second time offender".
"We're certainly investigating it," he said.
The council estimates it will cost several hundred dollars to repair.
"With current weather conditions and a priority on the preparation of sports fields, it is anticipated it will take a couple of months to restore this space to its previous state," the TRC spokeswoman said.
