Lake Keepit has filled up for the first time in nearly a decade and Chaffey Dam also continues to spill.
Tamworth clocked an official total of close to 70mm of the wet stuff in the past day and some residents reported even more in their backyard gauges.
Several roads have been closed this morning as water pools in low-lying areas and the rain continues to fall.
Police confirmed Burgmanns Lane, Wallamore Road, Warral Road, Werris Creek Road, Duri-Dungowan Road, Davidsons Lane and Daruka Road were shut to traffic on Monday morning.

The wet weather swept across the region with other areas also recording high rainfall totals.
Gunnedah's official total was 98.8mm in the past day, though local residents reported up to 120mm in some areas and several local streets are closed in the shire.
Werris Creek also copped the overnight downpour.
The wet weather is expected to continue in Tamworth today and through the rest of the week, with a possible reprieve on Tuesday.
The weather bureau is keeping a close eye on any river rises and emergency services have reminded locals to never enter floodwaters.
