
POLICE are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a home in Tamworth and wielded a knife while demanding cash.
Officers were called to an address on Petra Avenue late on Tuesday night after reports a man forced his way inside and threatened a 32-year-old man.

The accused was allegedly armed with a knife and demanded money before fleeing the scene about 10pm.
Another person was home at the time but no one was reported injured during the incident.

Police claim the alleged offender is described as being a man aged in his 20s, of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, and of an obese build.
Police believe he was wearing black shorts at the time and had his face covered with a navy blue shirt.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area around the time has been urged to contact local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
