Dylan James Porter, 25, fronted Tamworth Local Court last week and was handed a 14-month prison sentence to be served in the community instead of behind bars.
Court documents show Porter had conditions attached to the supervised intensive corrections order, including not to use specific drugs, and he was disqualified from driving for a year.
Porter faced charges in court last week of police pursuit and driving dangerously; six allegations of contravening an AVO; taking a vehicle without consent; and driving while disqualified.
The three driving offences stem from a police pursuit sparked on the afternoon of August 12, after officers claimed Porter failed to stop in West Tamworth.

Police facts indicate Porter was disqualified from driving when he got behind the wheel of a ute without permission, while the owner claims they were in the shower.
When police tried to speak with him after spotting the ute on Warral Road, officers claimed he "accelerated harshly" and made two right turns at "high speed".
Police turned on their warning devices and a pursuit was sparked about 5pm.
Police alleged Porter reached speeds of about 100km per hour in the West Tamworth residential area - which has a limit of 50km per hour - during the chase.
The police case was that Porter sped past a group of people, through a give way sign and crossed to the wrong side of a concrete median strip on the road as he entered a school zone.
Police abandoned the chase due to safety concerns but homed in on Porter a short time later after he was reportedly spotted dumping the car and running into a house.
Police facts indicate Porter apologised when he was arrested and said he "panicked the f*** out".
