With the 'Greatest Show' theme locked in, the ball has been scheduled for March 26 next year at the Oxley Lookout.
As a key date in the social calendar for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, regional affairs officer Daniel Gillett was "stoked" to see the event get the green light.
"It's something that we've really missed for the last two years," he said.
"There's really no other event like it."

With a line up of fantastic entertainment, dancing and auction items Mr Gillett said it would be a night to remember.
"It will really be a celebration of the service's history in Tamworth," he said.
"We're in for a good time."
With the two year hiatus coming to an end, Mr Gillett said he was keen to bring the community back to the dance floor.
"There's no other feeling like being at a rescue ball."
