A man has been rushed to hospital via the Westpac rescue chopper after he was crushed by a bull on an Inverell property.

The 44-year-old man's pelvis was seriously injured after he was crushed between a bull, estimated to weight about 1200 kilograms, and a steel post.

At about 11.35am on Wednesday, NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene called in the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service to help treat the man.
The chopper's Critical Care team, paramedics and staff at Inverell Hospital worked to stabilise him for flying, and he was then airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
