The country music capital will be open for business and ready to celebrate after Tamworth Regional Council confirmed the Tamworth Country Music Festival will go ahead and mark its 50th anniversary in January 2022.
"We're excited to celebrate the return of the festival and the comeback of live music events more generally," organiser Barry Harley said.
Mr Harley said it's been an incredibly challenging couple of years with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing stages to fall silent, though interstate travellers will be welcomed with open arms for the festival's return.
Businesses and artists across the city were left devastated when the virus forced the plug to be pulled on this year's festival.
But, Mr Harley said planners had been inspired and reassured by the state government's roadmap out of restrictions.

"We have huge celebrations planned to commemorate the festival's remarkable 50 years and we can't wait to welcome fans and artists back to Tamworth in January," he said.
Tamworth's festival is expected to mark the first live event for the year and is set to go off with a bang.
There are countless country acts already signed up to hit the stages at pubs, parks and other venues across the 10 days.
The highly decorated and legendary artist Lee Kernaghan has been added to a stellar list of stars set to perform for free at Bicentennial Park, including Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley, Fanny Lumsden and more.
A number of ticketed shows are already on sale.
One of the highlights is expected to be the 50th anniversary concert at the TRECC featuring John Williamson, Graeme Connors, Sara Storer, Adam Harvey, Felicity Urquhart, James Blundell, Gina Jefferies and more.
The event will showcase the festival's evolution from its modest beginnings in 1973 into the biggest country music festival in the southern hemisphere.
There will be rare video footage shown of the pioneers of Australian country music, while respected performers like Chad Morgan and The Bushwackers will also be featured.
