Further investigations led police to home in on the 20-year-old man and he was taken to Tamworth Police Station about 3:30pm on Monday.
Police said two charges have been levelled at the man, including using a carriage service to send indecent material to a person under the age of 16; and using a carriage service to procure someone under the age of 16 for sexual activity.
He has not yet fronted court or been required to enter pleas to the allegations.
Police have urged anyone with concerns about suspected child sex abuse or exploitation in the Tamworth area to contact Crime Stoppers and said information will be treated with strict confidence.
