Liverpool Plains Shire Council Mayor Doug Hawkins said he was proud to see the library open and offering the community a wide range of services, as well as the latest technology.

"We have free Wi-Fi, public access computers, as well as printing and photocopying," he said.

"There is also a fully interactive digital screen with a whiteboard and various activity apps."

With children's books and activity packs available for younger visitors and a wide variety of adult fiction, audio books and local history collections, Cr Hawkins was confident the library would be enjoyed by people of all ages and interests.

"Through their library membership our patrons can access all of Central Northern Regional Library's resources," Cr Hawkins said.

"There is a seed library available to all members, with donated vegetables and flower seeds."

Cr Hawkins said the Council would hold a larger celebration when COVID-19 restrictions allowed.

"This is a fantastic facility and it offers a really varied range of services," he said.

"So we want to celebrate with our community when any restrictions on large gatherings can be lifted."

Book worms can enjoy the library on weekdays from 10am to 5pm, by joining online or visiting in person.
